Joining the rag tag rebels of my generation down at Kellys Cove, lost and looking for a family or tribe to belong to, Bill Hickey welcomed us to the fire, giving us youngsters rules to live by; eat healthy, pick up after ourselves and for the beach, be authentic and keep on surfing. Those words still ring true today, and his presence can still be felt at each reunion since he passed on.
